Pros and Cons | Is Nutrafol Legit? | Products | Pricing | Customer Service | Website Review

When we’re young, we tend to take our thick, healthy hair for granted.

When a full head of hair is all you’ve ever known, the notion of losing that hair is the very last thing on your mind.

And yet, when the first signs of hair loss strike, you’re suddenly faced with the most stressful thing in the world.

If this experience sounds familiar to you, you’re not alone. Hair loss is a health concern that affects a huge portion of the population, and it’s equally anxiety-inducing for everyone.

Perhaps this explains the recent surge in hair-focused supplements, vitamins, and even prescription drugs. In the past few years, dozens of telehealth companies have cropped up with promising solutions for hair loss, and tons of people have turned to those companies for support in a stressful time.

Today, we’ll be focusing on one brand in particular—Nutrafol.

They offer a variety of hair-growth supplements for men and women alike. According to their website, all of their hair-growth formulas have been proven effective by clinical trials and studies published in medical journals.

In other words, their products seem to be legit.

If you’re looking for a hair-loss solution, Nutrafol may seem like a highly promising option.

Of course, you want to do your due diligence before investing in a product, which is why we’ve already done all that research for you.

In just a bit, we’re going to delve into all things Nutrafol. We’ll take an in-depth look at this company’s products, customer service, prices, and much more. Basically, anything you want to know about Nutrafol, we’ve got covered.

By the end of this review, we hope our insights can help you get off the fence.

Nutrafol: The Pros and Cons

Before we really get into the details, let’s kick things off with the basics—a general overview of all the positives and negatives of Nutrafol.

These are a few of the biggest pros of this brand:

  • Nutrafol’s products are clinically tested and proven to be effective.
  • The company employs a board of scientific advisors and medical doctors
  • Nutrafol offers a wide variety of products.
  • The company’s customer service team is generally helpful and knowledgeable.
  • Their website is very easy to use and navigate.
  • Nutrafol offers free shipping for customers in the United States.

Of course, no company is without its weak spots. These are the most relevant cons of Nutrafol:

  • Nutrafol is more expensive than some of its competitors.
  • Nutrafol has some shipping restrictions—they don’t ship to certain countries or to P.O. boxes.
  • Some customers have had issues canceling their Nutrafol subscriptions.

Now that you’ve got a basic understanding of this company, let’s take a closer look at each of these pros and cons.

Is Nutrafol Legit?

Nutrafol is a telehealth company—this means that they conduct their business entirely online.

So, unlike with traditional medicine, you’ll never actually see a doctor in person when you use Nutrafol. Rather, all consultations are virtual.

This model has its pros and cons, of course (all of which we’ll discuss in detail later).

However, one of the most glaring questions for first-time telehealth users is this: Are virtual health brands like Nutrafol actually legit?

We get it. For many of us, getting a prescription or purchasing supplements online may seem a bit sketchy.

There’s no doubt that there are telehealth companies out there that are less than trustworthy. However, in our opinion, Nutrafol is not one of those companies.

There are a few factors that have convinced us that Nutrafol is legit. Firstly, as we’ve already mentioned, all of their formulas are clinically tested and proven to be effective.

Along similar lines, the company employs a board of trusted scientific advisors, including several medical doctors.

In other words, Nutrafol isn’t just another supplement scam.

Beyond these elements, there’s one more thing that proves that Nutrafol is trustworthy—that is, their online reviews. In our research, we’ve found that Nutrafol has mostly positive reviews from real customers.

For example, the Women’s Hair Growth Supplement currently has 4.3 out of 5 stars on Amazon, based on over 5,000 reviews. In our eyes, that’s very promising.

Here are a few of those real reviews that showcase Nutrafol’s products:

I have never written a review in my life but felt like if I had to write one, it would be about nutrafol. Such an AMAZING product. I was the person that my hair NEVER grew passed a certain length & it would drive me crazy. It does take time so patience is needed but it worth the wait! I get balayage quite often and it just takes a toll on my hair If I’m not careful. My hair is pretty coarse so I try to get keratin every few months as well. Nutrafol nursed my hair back to health after using it for about a little over a year religiously. People have been starting to notice and saying how long my hair has gotten & how healthy it looks.

— Tamara, 5/5 stars, Amazon

I noticed a difference in my hair within the first week of taking it. I looked into this product after hearing rave reviews from friends and thought I might give it go considering the amount of shedding I was experiencing on a daily basis. My hair feels heavier, longer, softer and shinier than it has in 10 years. I hate pills and I am excited to take these each day because I know they are working. I’m about to finish my first bottle and just ordered my second. I am hooked!

— Katie, 5/5 Stars, Amazon

We could fill this entire page with positive reviews like these. Thousands of customers have left similar comments applauding Nutrafol for the effectiveness of their products.

In our view, this shows just how legitimate and trustworthy the company really is.

Product Selection

Now that we know that their products are legit, let’s discuss something equally important: the variety of their product selection. The wide range of product choices is actually one of the things we love most about Nutrafol.

Nutrafol offers four types of supplements—general women’s hair growth, postpartum growth, peri and post-menopausal growth, and general men’s hair growth.

Of course, each of these supplements provides unique health benefits.

Although there are many hair-supplement brands out there, it’s rare to find one that offers such a wide selection of products, especially for women.

We love that Nutrafol allows its customers to choose a supplement that is perfectly suited to their needs.

If you’re not completely sure which type of supplement is right for you, Nutrafol even offers a hair wellness quiz. This quiz involves questions about your hair needs, hormones, stress, metabolism, nutrition, and environment.

It only took us a few minutes to complete, and it felt really simple and easy. In our view, this quiz is one way that Nutrafol goes above and beyond.

Pricing

Now, moving on to something a bit more practical, it’s time to delve into pricing. Sure, Nutrafol works, but is it affordable? How does it compare to its competitors?

Frankly, the cost of Nutrafol is one of its weak points.

In online reviews, many customers point out that these supplements are pretty pricey. There’s really no denying that. For example, a one-month supply of Nutrafol Women will cost you $79. In comparison, a one-month supply of women’s hair supplements from Viviscal (a major competitor) costs only $49.99.

So, if cutting costs is your main point of concern, another company may be the best choice for you. However, that’s not to say that Viviscal or any of the other competitors is better than Nutrafol all-around.

Many Nutrafol users have noted that the brand’s supplements are totally worth the cost, making up for priceyness with effectiveness. Plus, Nutrafol uses all-natural ingredients, a welcome component in any supplement.

Yes, Nutrafol may cost you a few extra dollars. However, from what we’ve seen, the product is worth the price. If you can afford to try Nutrafol, we think it deserves a shot.

Customer Service

When purchasing from an online health company, customer service should always be a major factor to consider. With no in-person doctor’s visits or storefronts, it’s important to know that you’ll have solid support via other means.

When it comes to Nutrafol, we’ve found that their customer service is generally responsive and thorough.

For the most part, whether you have issues with an order or questions about their products, there will be someone from Nutrafol available to help.

Along these lines, we should mention what we think is one of the major perks of Nutrafol. When you sign up for their monthly subscription service, you actually gain access to their team of doctors.

These experts are always available to help you through your personal hair growth journey. If you ever have questions or concerns about your hair, it’s super easy to get a professional opinion.

Speaking of their subscription service, it’s important to note one complaint that we’ve noticed from time to time: Certain customers have complained that they’ve had trouble canceling their subscription service.

We’ve seen some people claim that they’ve tried to cancel multiple times with no luck. As such, they’ve been charged by Nutrafol for products they didn’t want anymore.

Most reviews make no mention of this issue, but we have seen it come up from time to time. It’s something worth keeping in mind if you’re considering signing up for a subscription.

Website Review

Next up, let’s take a look at Nutrafol’s website. Just like customer service, a company’s website can play a major role in the overall consumer experience.

All in all, Nutrafol’s website was very user-friendly and well-designed. It was simple yet aesthetically pleasing, and all of the information we were eager for was easy to find. We have no complaints!

In addition to their main website, Nutrafol also has a very in-depth FAQ page.

This section of the site has answers to pretty much any question you could imagine. With so much information readily available, buying supplements online is easier than ever.

Shipping

Finally, we should take a look at one of the most significant components of any online business—shipping.

In general, we’ve found that Nutrafol shipping is fast and reliable.

Better yet, it’s completely free for customers in the United States. So, if you’re a U.S. resident, you’re in luck.

Unfortunately, international customers do have to pay for shipping.

This is one of the downsides of this company for those of us who live outside of the United States. Moreover, Nutrafol’s website does not list specific shipping costs for international customers.

Rather, they suggest that you contact them directly for an estimate. This can be slightly irritating, as it may add on an extra, unanticipated cost for non-U.S. residents.

Along similar lines, Nutrafol currently only ships to certain countries due to regulations and logistical reasons. So, people in certain countries will be out of luck altogether.

Finally, we should note that Nutrafol does not ship to P.O. boxes. This is just another shipping restriction that may cause issues for certain groups of people.

While we love that Nutrafol offers free, fast shipping, these restrictions can certainly be considered a downside of this company if you’re outside of the U.S. or have a P.O. box.

The Verdict on Nutrafol

So, now that we’ve discussed nearly every aspect of Nutrafol, it’s time to offer our final verdict.

Although this company has a few negative marks, we believe that the pros outweigh the cons by far. If you’re looking for a new hair supplement, we think Nutrafol should be high on your to-try list.
